Founded in 1951, The Portland Foundation is the second oldest community foundation in Indiana. It was created to enhance the quality of life for the people of Jay County, Indiana, now and for generations to come, by building community endowment, effecting significant impact through grantmaking, and providing leadership on key community issues.
The United Way of Jay County has been part of the Jay County Community for 50 years. The United Way partners with 20 member agencies and programs to help fund programs throughout the County.
We strive to help all Jay County residents achieve and maintain self-sufficiency by focusing on four key areas of community impact – Education, Income, Health, and Basic Needs.
